HAIR MAINTENANCE UNDER WEAVE

6 Tips For Maintaining Your Hair Under The WeaveImage

While you’re in a routine of always whipping your weave back and forth, don’t forget that you need to care for the hair below. If you want a full healthy head of hair while you keeping the flyest weaves and wigs check the following tips:

Moisturize
Get a good oil/moisturizer to apply to your real hair underneath. Weaved up or not, hair needs moisture – don’t ever deprive it.

Clean Scalp
A dirty scalp with tons of product build up can stunt growth. To avoid “stuntin’,” apply shampoo to your fingers and gently rub your scalp, use a spray bottle to rinse and apply a leave-in conditioner. Or try the newly popular no-sud shampoos on your scalp. Either way be sure to cleanse scalp weekly or bi-weekly.

The Right Brushes/Combs
When combing human hair weaves, detangle from tip to root using a wide tooth comb. Synthetic hair wearers can use a bristle brush. When combing or brushing, don’t tug. Too much tension can damage your real hair.

Cover Hair At Night
Sleeping with a satin scarf or bonnet will keep weaves from getting tangled and prevent breakage of any hair left out in a partial weave. Stay away from all cotton coverings. If you have braids or twists, you can also add a little moisturizer before covering your hair at night, to penetrate in your real hair.

Expiration Dates
Don’t keep fake hair in your hair past its time. Even if the hair still looks fresh, leaving it in longer than 6-8 weeks can cause matting and hair damage. This goes for both weaves and braids.

Let It Rest
When taking hair out, give your hair and scalp a rest for a couple of weeks. Make sure to pamper your real hair and give it plenty of TLC, which includes deep conditioners, trims, and no harsh chemicals

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR HAIR EXTENSION

Tips for Maintaining your Hair Extension Weave

hair extension maintenance1 Tips for Maintaining your Hair Extension Weavehair extension weave made out of human hair is a beauty investment that, if maintained properly, can last as long as a year and still look fabulous. Sewn right into your own hair, a hair extension weave can be created to be indistinguishable from your own hair while adding the length and volume that you have always wanted. Follow these tips and your magnificent mane of hair will maintain its quality and splendor for months.

  1. When combing out your hair extension weave, start from the bottom and remove any snarls gently while holding the hair form the top so individual strands do not fall out.
  2. Make sure to comb out any tangles that are in the weave before you wash your hair since much damage can be done when hair is wet.
  3. Use a high quality shampoo to wash your hair extensions as the cheaper shampoos are more likely to leave the hair excessively dry while the more expensive alternatives will actually condition the hair. Also, avoid products containing alcohol because it is known to dull the shine.
  4. Regardless of the shampoo and conditioner that you choose, rinse thoroughly between the tracks to remove residue and prevent buildup.
  5. Even though it feels great to really scrub your scalp when you wash your hair, if you have a hair extension weave, do not rub too hard or you may loosen the tracks. Instead, just smooth the shampoo and conditioner through your hair.
  6. Pat your hair dry and let it air dry rather than wrapping it up in a tight towel turban that could pull at the hair extension tracks.
  7. While most hair styling products are not recommended for those who have hair extensions, using a good leave in conditioner is just fine. While hairspray, gel, and mousse are difficult to remove and leave hair sticky, a conditioner will make it easier to brush out your weave.
  8. Have your hair extension weave professionally tightened every so often to ensure it stays in place. Loosening of the tracks happens gradually so, if you want to make sure not to lose any of your beautiful new hair, have it examined to make sure each extension is in place.
  9. Try sleeping on a satin pillowcase so you can move your head freely without disrupting the weave. Then, you won’t wake up to find a pillow full of hair.
  10. If you swim, a swim cap is a definite must to protect your hair weave extensions. Not only can the force of the water pull them out, the chlorine in the pool can dry, dull, and discolor your hair.
  11. When it comes time to remove your extensions, have a professional do it to ensure that your own hair is not damaged or pulled out in the process.

MAKE UP TIPS!!

Top 10 Makeup Tips for Women with Fair, Light Skin & Blonde Hair

Many blondes with fair skin have no idea how to use makeup to complement their pale skin. Whether you struggle with trying to hide your freckles or just want to learn how to highlight your features and look fresh, these blond makeup tips will help you look gorgeous!

    1. You Don’t Have to Stick with Pastel Eye Shadow Colors.
When you’re a blonde, never think you are forced to stick with pastel eye shadow colors alone. Sure, you can pull them off well. But, you can also use browns, purples, grays and silvers to help you get the look you want.
    2. Play Up Eyes with the Right Eyeliner Shades.
Blondes are fortune in that they can wear eyeliner shades of almost any color. Some of the best shades to try are gray, violet, blue and brown. However, black can be used for a super dramatic effect at night time, as well.
  1. Concealer is a Fair Skinned Gal’s Best Friend.
If you have freckles or other blemishes, they can show up a lot when your skin is fair. Thus, concealer will likely become your best friend. Find a concealer to make your skin tone. Dap it on any areas you want to conceal and blend the edges until it looks seamless on your face. This may take practice, so don’t give up!
  2. Bronzer Can Give Your Complexion Some ZEST!
If you want a sunkissed look, don’t be afraid to use bronzer. After you’ve applied your foundation and/or powder, take a big round blush and apply bronzer in a light bronze color. Only add it to your t-zone and to the apples of your cheeks. Remember, less is more when it comes to bronzer!
  3. Have a Light Hand with the Blush.
Loading up on blush won’t make you look less fair and will only end up making you look like a clown. So, when it comes to choose blush colors, stick with a sheer pink or neutral color. Add a little to the apples of your cheeks and examine it in natural sunlight. If you feel you need more at that point, add more. If you overdo it, you can always use a little powder or foundation to tone it back down without having to re-do all of your makeup.
  4. Choose lip colors in pinks and corals.
Lipstick can help pale skin look brighter, but overloading on dark colors of lipstick can end up making you look even fairer. Stick with lighter colored lipsticks of pinks and corals. You can also opt for colored lip glosses for a more natural and fresher look.
  5. Fair skin generally needs more moisture than darker skin.
When you have fair skin, moisturizing and taking care of your skin is very important. Fine lines, spots and blemishes show up a lot more on light skin than darker skin tones. Thus, it’s important to use a light moisturizer after you shower each morning and a thicker night time moisturizer before bed.
  6. Brown Mascara Looks More Natural.
When it comes to mascara and blondes, it’s best to wear brown mascara for daytime hours and save the dark mascara colors for night wear only for a more dramatic look.
  7. Use Your Neckline to Choose a Foundation.
Fair skinned beauties often choose the wrong foundation tint. They end up looking almost white powder like, which is never a good look on anyone. Thus, choosing a foundation can be kind of tricky. The best thing to do is visit your local mall cosmetics counter to allow a professional to help you with the task. However, if you’d prefer not to, simply look at your neckline and try to match a foundation color to that area.
  8. Use Sunscreen EVERYDAY.
Cosmetics can certainly help your fair skin look radiant, but for overall great looking skin, you’ll also need to work diligently to protect it. To do this, you should work a daily sunscreen on your body and your face into your skin care routine. Use one with a fairly high SPF to ensure you’re getting the best protection possible.
